Air fryer sweet potato fries are my newest snack obsession. Sweet potato strips are tossed in olive oil, garlic powder, dry dill, and paprika, then air-fried to perfection. They come out golden crispy on the outside, but tender and fluffy on the inside. Just WOW. Craving french fries? Make this instead and indulge without the guilt.

  • Sweet potatoes: The natural sweetness of sweet potatoes provides a nice canvas for different spices and seasonings to shine. I always choose medium sweet potatoes that are most similar size-wise so that I can have even, uniform slices.
  • Olive oil: A splash of olive oil will help the seasonings stick to the fries and help achieve that gorgeous golden-brown crispiness.
  • Dry dill: Adds a fresh, slightly tangy flavor that complements the sweetness of the potatoes.

Step-By-Step Instructions

Can you believe that these amazing air fryer sweet potato fries just take 25 minutes to make, including prep and cook time? Simply prep the sweet potatoes, toss them in the oil and seasonings, and cook them in your air fryer to crispy goodness. So quick and easy for such a tasty and filling snack!

Step 1: Prep the potatoes

Wash and peel the sweet potatoes, then cut them into thin, uniform strips. 

Next, place the sweet potato strips in a large bowl and add the olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, dry dill and paprika. Toss until the sweet potatoes are evenly coated.

Step 2: Air-fry

Preheat the air fryer to 400 F (200 C) for about 3 to 5 minutes. Divide the seasoned sweet potato strips into batches and place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer, without overcrowding.

Cook the sweet potato fries in the air fryer for 12 to 15 minutes per batch, shaking or flipping halfway through cooking, until they are crispy and golden brown. Repeat with the remaining batches of sweet potato fries.
