How To Make Essential Oil Blends For Men
If you’ve been following my blog, you know that I’ve shared plenty of essential oil blends on here. I’ve shared about the blends we use around our home, including essential oils for flu, pain and inflammation, nail fungus, and even essential oil wool dryer balls. I’ve also created ginger, winter, summer, and other essential oil blends that we can diffuse depending on our mood!
Since my husband benefits from and enjoys these, I decided to create a few bottles of different essential oil blends for men as an anniversary gift for him. Here’s how to make essential oil blends at home, so you can surprise the man in your life, too!
You’ll need at least two essential oils from any of the categories above, a 5 milliliter amber glass essential oil bottle, and a small funnel.
- Step 1: Open a clean and dry amber glass essential oil bottle and set the dropper lid aside.
- Step 2: Following the recipe, carefully drop each essential oil into the bottle using a small funnel. Swirl the bottle gently after each addition to combine well.
- Step 3: Attach the dropper cap, making sure it’s tight and secure.
- Using a small funnel, carefully drop each essential oil into the bottle following the recipe.
- Step 4: Shake the bottle vigorously to mix the essential oils well.
- Step 5: You may choose to use it immediately or, for optimal results, let the oils rest for 1 to 2 days. It’s best to store oil blends at room temperature and away from direct sunlight.
Note that essential oils are concentrated, so you only need a few drops to achieve a certain scent. When you’re experimenting with combinations or need less than a drop of a certain essential oil, you can try the toothpick technique – just dip the tip of a toothpick into an essential oil bottle then swirl it into the mixture that you’re creating.
To use these blends in your diffuser, simply add 100 to 150 milliliters of room temperature water to its tank and add 5 to 6 drops of essential oils. Turn your diffuser on and adjust its settings according to your preferences.
These masculine scents are versatile and can be used in a wide range of different product applications. If you plan to use these blends in homemade body care products such as men’s cologne, roller blends, room sprays, soaps, hairsprays, or even a bubble bath powder, be sure to use a carrier oil like almond, jojoba or coconut oil to avoid skin irritations or adverse reactions when used topically. This post couldn't have come at a better time! I just bought everything I need to make some simple melt and pour soaps and was trying to decide which EO blends to use. I did 3 separate batches and he just tried the one with vetiver and loves it. Hopefully he will like the other two as well.
