Essential oil blends for men are ideal to use for those times when youโre in the mood for a masculine vibe. These fresh and stimulating scents exude strength, confidence, and sophistication that appeal to anyone, specifically to men. My husband likes essential oils, but heโs especially happy when I diffuse these manly aromas – he even makes his own blends now and often diffuses them in his office and in his car!
If youโre used to diffusing scents that are soft, sweet, or flowery, like lavender and vanilla, youโll find that certain aromas give off a more manly feeling to a space – they are sharper, muskier and often with undertones of spice. I compiled my best recipes for essential oil blends for men, perfect to include in your manโs self-care routine or to simply enhance the ambiance of his space.
Manly Essential Oils To Try
Whether an essential oil smells good is an individual preference, but I observed that men are generally into earthy and woodsy scents, which makes them ideal bases for your men’s blends. I gave the boys and the men in our family either a bottle of myย woodsy essential oil blendsย or pine diffuser blends asย Christmas gifts, and they all loved it!
Earthy and woodsy oils pair well with spicy, minty, and citrusy essential oils. Sometimes I mix in a hint of floral and herbal scents to these masculine essential oils which always creates a great scent.
Men are generally pretty easy to please and might even prefer unscented personal care balms and other items. However, when theyโre ready for some scent, I want you to be prepared with the best manly essential oils that you can mix and match to create blends that best suit your man.

How To Make Essential Oil Blends For Men
If youโve been following my blog, you know that Iโve shared plenty of essential oil blends on here. Iโve shared about the blends we use around our home, including essential oils for flu, pain and inflammation, nail fungus, and even essential oil wool dryer balls. Iโve also created ginger, winter, summer, and other essential oil blends that we can diffuse depending on our mood!
Since my husband benefits from and enjoys these, I decided to create a few bottles of different essential oil blends for men as an anniversary gift for him. Hereโs how to make essential oil blends at home, so you can surprise the man in your life, too!
Youโll need at least two essential oils from any of the categories above, a 5 milliliter amber glass essential oil bottle, and a small funnel.
- Step 1: Open a clean and dry amber glass essential oil bottle and set the dropper lid aside.
- Step 2: Following the recipe, carefully drop each essential oil into the bottle using a small funnel. Swirl the bottle gently after each addition to combine well.
- Step 3: Attach the dropper cap, making sure itโs tight and secure.
- Using a small funnel, carefully drop each essential oil into the bottle following the recipe.
- Step 4: Shake the bottle vigorously to mix the essential oils well.
- Step 5: You may choose to use it immediately or, for optimal results, let the oils rest for 1 to 2 days. Itโs best to store oil blends at room temperature and away from direct sunlight.
Note that essential oils are concentrated, so you only need a few drops to achieve a certain scent. When youโre experimenting with combinations or need less than a drop of a certain essential oil, you can try the toothpick technique – just dip the tip of a toothpick into an essential oil bottle then swirl it into the mixture that youโre creating.
To use these blends in your diffuser, simply add 100 to 150 milliliters of room temperature water to its tank and add 5 to 6 drops of essential oils. Turn your diffuser on and adjust its settings according to your preferences.
These masculine scents are versatile and can be used in a wide range of different product applications. If you plan to use these blends in homemade body care products such as menโs cologne, roller blends, room sprays, soaps, hairsprays, or even a bubble bath powder, be sure to use a carrier oil like almond, jojoba or coconut oil to avoid skin irritations or adverse reactions when used topically. For best results, only use therapeutic grade pure essential oils for your blends.

This post couldn’t have come at a better time! I just bought everything I need to make some simple melt and pour soaps and was trying to decide which EO blends to use. I did 3 separate batches and he just tried the one with vetiver and loves it. Hopefully he will like the other two as well.
Hi, Ellen. I’m so happy you found this post. I hope your next batches will turn out just as great. Good luck!
