This pumpkin spice latte frappuccino is a delightful blend of sweet pumpkin puree, creamy milk,  and warm spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Top it off with a generous swirl of whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin spice and youโ€™ll have an insanely good drink to enjoy at home any time you want.

Pumpkin spice frappuccino is thick, creamy, and velvety. Itโ€™s delicious as it is indulgent, thatโ€™s why itโ€™s hard to believe that you can whip it up in 5 minutes or less, including prep time. All you have to do is throw in all the ingredients in your blender, blend until smooth, garnish, and serve! Just perfect for a quick coffee fix.

Ingredients You Need

  • Brewed espresso: Coffee forms the base of the frappuccino. I like to use brewed espresso or any strong coffee to make sure that the flavor comes through and balances nicely with the sweetness of the drink.
  • Milk: Balances the boldness of the espresso and gives the drink the smooth, creamy, and velvety texture we all love. Use your milk of choice, whether it’s dairy or dairy-free – whole milk, full fat, 2%, skim, etc.
  • Maple syrup: Provides natural sweetness that complements the pumpkin spice.
  • Pumpkin puree: Thickens the drink and gives it an authentic pumpkin flavor. I recommend using fresh but feel free to use 100% pure canned pumpkin puree.
  • Pumpkin pie spice: Gives the frappuccino with that iconic fall flavor. Use ready-made pumpkin pie spice or make your own by mixing cinnamon, ginger, allspice, cloves, or nutmeg.
  • Ice cubes

Step 1: Blend all ingredients

Add all the ingredients, except the whipped cream, to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth.

Step 2: Garnish and serve

When done, divide the mixture evenly between two cups and garnish with optional whipped cream and a light dusting of cinnamon. To dust, add a bit of cinnamon to a small fine mesh strainer and gently tap it with a spoon while holding over the whipped cream.

Serve immediately and with a straw, if desired.

Substitutions

You might already have all the ingredients for this pumpkin spice latte frappuccino in your kitchen. If youโ€™re missing one or prefer to use another ingredient, here are some ideal substitutions:

  • Brewed espresso: Espresso is usually used in frappuccinos, but can be substitute with a cold brew coffee or any strongly brewed coffee of your choice.
  • Maple syrup: No maple syrup? Substitute with honey or any simple syrup: plain, vanilla, or hazelnut are all complimentary. You can also use sugar-free syrup if preferred. Make sure to taste and adjust your sweetener depending on your personal preference!
  • Pumpkin puree: If pumpkin isnโ€™t available, you can use mashed bananas instead. While still delicious, your drink wonโ€™t have that strong pumpkin flavor so be sure to make the recipe again using pumpkin puree!

  • Triple Pumpkin Spice: Can’t get enough pumpkin spice? Top the frappuccino with pumpkin cream and drizzle with pumpkin spice syrup for the ultimate pumpkin spice treat!
  • Dairy-free: Make your pumpkin spice latte frappuccino dairy-free by using non-dairy milk and whipped cream. Coconut milk is a great choice because itโ€™s thicker and creamier than dairy milk, but almond milk and oat milk are also ideal.
  • Mocha-flavored: Mix in a tablespoon of cocoa powder or a shot of chocolate syrup to add a rich mocha flavor to your frappuccino.

How to Store This Recipe

This drink wonโ€™t store well.  I donโ€™t recommend making this drink ahead or in bulk because it will become watered down when stored in the fridge. It only takes 5 minutes to make, anyway.

If you’d like to make it ahead, you can blend the coffee and pumpkin puree together, pour them into an ice cube tray to make coffee ice cubes, and keep them in the freezer. Blend them with the rest of the ingredients when you’re ready to use! 

What to Serve with Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino

Pumpkin spice frappuccino is filling on its own, but it also pairs well with a variety of dishes for a filling snack. Enjoy it with a slice of cake or 4-ingredient banana bread, a few pieces of flourless cookies, or a donut. For some savory pairings, serve the frappe with a salad, sandwich, or a light pasta.
