Instructions
Preheat your oven to 320 °F and line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix with water, egg, and oil. Use a whisk or an electric mixer to blend until the batter is smooth and well combined. Pour the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
Drizzle peanut butter over the top of the batter, then use a butter knife to gently swirl it in. Drag the knife through the mixture to create a marbled effect. If you love extra creaminess, feel free to add a couple more spoonfuls of peanut butter.
Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool in the pan on a wire rack. Once cooled, slice into squares and enjoy them warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Stir the batter until combined to keep brownies soft and fudgy. Overmixing leads to a tougher, dense texture.
Use a toothpick to create unique designs, or add dollops of Nutella or chocolate for a marbled touch.
Eggs blend more easily into the batter when they’re not cold. Forgot to take it out? Soak it in warm water for a few minutes.
Allow at least 15 minutes for them to set before cutting. If you can slice cleanly, they are ready to serve.
Warm a knife under hot water, wipe between slices, and get perfect, smooth edges with every cut.
Enjoy these brownies warm from the oven when they are extra gooey and soft.
