Air fryer sweet potato fries are my newest snack obsession. Sweet potato strips are tossed in olive oil, garlic powder, dry dill, and paprika, then air-fried to perfection. They take just 25 minutes to make, including prep and cook time. Simply prep the sweet potatoes, toss them in the oil and seasonings, and cook them in your air fryer to crispy goodness. So quick and easy for such a tasty and filling snack!
Wash and peel the sweet potatoes, then cut them into thin, uniform strips. Place the sweet potato strips in a large bowl and add the olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, dry dill and paprika. Toss until the sweet potatoes are evenly coated.
Preheat the air fryer to 400 °F (200 C) for about 3-5 minutes. Divide the seasoned sweet potato strips into batches and place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer, without overcrowding.
Cook the sweet potato fries in the air fryer for 12-15 minutes per batch, shaking or flipping halfway through cooking, until they are crispy and golden brown. Repeat with the remaining batches of sweet potato fries.
Serve the sweet potato fries hot, with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
Notes
Soak the cut sweet potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes before coating and cooking for extra crispiness.
Cut the sweet potatoes into similar-sized strips, as uniformity helps them cook at the same rate, so no fry is left underdone or over-crispy.
Avoid overcrowding your air fryer basket for the crispiest results. Arrange the fries in a single layer and work in batches if needed.
Give the fries a shake or toss halfway through cooking to make sure they cook and crisp evenly on all sides.
Serve: Sweet potato fries make a great standalone snack when served with an assortment of dipping sauces. Serve them anywhere you would serve traditional french fries - think burgers, sandwiches, or wraps. Chicken and fries are also a classic pairing. Store: Place leftovers in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or in the freezer for up to 2 weeks. To reheat, arrange the fries in a single layer in your air fryer and cook at 350 F for 5 to 8 minutes or until warmed through. They should crisp up again.
