Make a 4-ingredient guacamole recipe with ripe avocados, a splash of lime juice, a pinch of salt, and your favorite salsa for an impressively quick, easy, and totally delicious summer snack or topping. You only need the ingredients, a spoon, and one bowl before the chunky avocado dip is ready to enjoy.
Halve each avocado and remove the pits. Scoop the meat out and place it in a medium-sized mixing bowl.
Add salt and lime juice.
Mash with a fork or pastry cutter until chunky.
Add the salsa. Stir gently to combine.
Notes
Buy The Perfect Avocadoes: If you don’t know how to buy avocados, Tastemade chef Megan Mitchell says “My tip to picking the perfect avocado is buying ones that are slightly under-ripe, that still feel a bit firm.” Ripe avocados are perfect to make guacamole!
Don’t Overmix Or Over-Mash: Doing so will make the avocado lose flavor and texture. Those avocado chunks are what makes the guacamole uniquely delicious and satisfying to eat.
Season Well: Don’t skimp on the salt! Start with a little, then taste and adjust as needed.
Add Extras: You can make guacamole just how you like it - try adding finely diced tomatoes, red onions, or jalapeños for added texture and flavor. You can also experiment with mix-ins. Try garlic, cumin, or a splash of hot sauce to customize your dip.
Try It Mild: For a mild guacamole recipe, use mild salsa. Pretty easy, right? If you like hot and spicy flavors, use a hot and spicy salsa instead. Temper the heat of spicy peppers and easily adjust for your preference.
Serve Immediately: Guacamole is best enjoyed fresh. Prepare it just before serving for the best flavor!
